Any boxing fans on here?
Couldn't find a tread on the sport, so with the Mayweather - Marquez fight on Saturday, i think its worth starting one.
Mayweather is gonna win, no question. Marquez is a great fighter, but there will be no upsets on Saturday. Im going with Mayweather, Round 3, KO.
Pac man should beat Cotto also, altho it will be a harder fight than Hatton, maybe even a 12 rounder, but Manny should come threw and set up the fight we all want to see.
Any predictions for Saturday lads? |

| id love to see mayweather get knocked out, but its hard to logically see how that could happen, marquez is good but i dont think he's that good. id say it will go to mayweather by decision |

| It's all setting up nicely to a Pacquiao - Mayweather fight next year. |

I used to be a big boxing fan but the politics of the sport adn who is signed for which tv company and the lack of decent fights has moved me over to MMA. May v Pac next year would certainly make me tune in and what Barry Hearn is doing with Prizefighter is a great idea, other then that can't be arsed.
UFC 103 is going head to head this week on US PPV, will be interesting to see how that pans out. |

I have many reasons to believe that Cotto can beat Pacquiao. Fair play to Pacman, you can't take anything away from him, but for one, it would be a mistake to underestimate Cotto and Pacquiao seems to think he has this one in the bag- concentrating on other promoting activities in the Philippines at the expense of time spent at training camp.
As regards Mayweather vs Marquez- I would be astounded if Mayweather didn't win. I love Marquez as a fighter and I hope that he puts on a good display so he can go back and continue at Lightweight again... but no amount of drinking his own piss is going to help him take Mayweather down! |

Jesus I certainly didn't see that coming, poor old Bernard got absolutely pole-axed in the third round last night. It was looking routine enough until then I have to say, but fuck after the second knock down it was game over, you could see Dunne didn't even know where he was despite being able to get back up.
My heart went out to him though being knocked flat on his arse like that in front of his home crowd and in his first title defence. |

Managed to get in near ringside....could feel the after shocks of Tyson Fureys punches!! Dunne took a serious belt and looked very dizzy after that...
Highlight was Katie Taylors standing ovation! |

Bloke on the radio this morning has £25,000 on Haye to knock out Valuev. Don't see that happening. Haye has a decent chance of winning but knocking the big man out, I don't think so.
Still if i were a gambler I'd put mine on Valuev. |

What's even more risky is Haye having to rely on getting a decision in Germany. The only way i see Haye winning this is by ko. Valuev has never been rocked before and Haye's punching power will be compromised by having to punch upwards. If this fight wasn't being held in Germany i'd be inclined to go for Haye by UD. Then again if Haye isn't able to put away Valuev he's bound to be caught by Valuev sooner or later and seeing he has struggled to taken the punches of cruiserweight what'll happen when he feels the punches of a behemoth- true Valuev doesn't punch as powerful as his size suggests he would, but he still punches considerably harder than the likes of Mormeck, at cruiserweight, who put Haye on the canvas.
so, all things considered, i haven't a clue who to go for in this fight. |
