Yeah, most of the stuff I eat tastes like shite. Fuck it, you get used to it. Seems like most food that tastes good isn't that good for you anyway.

Good idea not doing weights the same day as boxing Russell. I try to avoid chest, shoulders or legs on the same days I'm doing Krav. Did a fairly heavy upper body session on Monday though as I had a bit of extra time in the gym due to my boss being out. Arms were fit to fall off after 2 hours of krav that night. Could barely hold up focus mitts by the end. Had to fuck loads of push ups during the training that night too, typically.

Ouch. That happened to me one day last October too, the arms were like jelly. My arms, legs and everything else are knackered after boxing as it is, so there is no point making that even worse!
As for food, most of what I eat tastes nice lads, must be eating the wrong stuff or maybe just a better cook haha.

If you don't gag at least once a meal you're a girl Russell. Smile

It might tastes once...maybe twice....but when you eat something 8-10 times a day, everyday, it gets boring!

I don't see how anyone can eat a varied diet and get maximum results! Its a small selection of food that has been proven to yield the most effective results. If you do somehow manage to cook a hot meal 8-10 times a day you just don't have enough going on in your life!!!

I'm a six time a day man myself, can't fit more as I need a fairly empty stomach for boxing, soccer and running. I'll have hot food for at least three, but rarely all six, and I'll have to admit that one of the six is usually a shake. I do occasionally get bored though, especially if it's mung, yellow, green and broad bean, barley and rye stew for the fourth evening in succession haha. Strangely though, despite having a bowl of porridge with water and a ground seed/nut mix and an omlette every morning I never get bored of breakfast! I did nearly lose that breakfast yesterday on the deadlift though...

Most of mine are cold. Usually the only hot stuff I have is when I get in from work and the porridge/millet I have with my breakfast. Massive lunchbox of sweet potato and lentils and a bag of raw veg getting me through today and yesterday. Not exactly tasty. Got a venison steak for dinner though so well looking forward to that.

Ill only eat my 18 eggs hot in the morning. I don't bother heating up my pasta and chicken and I never count a shake as a meal. That's during the week. The weekend sometimes allows me the time to eat some hot meals but when I'm constantly stuffed I just couldn't be arsed heating it up......I don't want to eat it anyway!hahaha.

I'm up 7.1kg and 1.5% bodyfat in just over 5 weeks since coming back off of my holidays. Chuffed! Progess should be waaaay slower from now on. Looking for 1lb of lean muscle a week!

I've not been eating as much as I should. My problem being I never feel hungry anyway so I put off eating when I know I should be.

It's all a mindset. You just need to get to the realisation that you're eating for nutrition/calories etc and not cos you're hungry. Force a meal down every 2 or 3 hours whether you're hungry or not.

Spot on!

As soon as you realise that you food is something that just has to be consumed and not enjoyed you will progress. Took me fucking ages to get into that mindset. however, now I don't even think about food as a pleasure or something that could possibly be enjoyed. Nothing now passes my lips unless its of nutritional value to me (exluding my cheat meal weekly). It's hard to do though.

Set your watch alarm and eat when it goes off. I found that to be the nest way to get into the habit. You will evetually change your body's relationship with food. Try to daydream while eating too....it amkes lfe easier.

Also, new research ahs proven that if youn eat your carbs first its easier to eat the protein after. That very brief summary doesn't do the study justice but that the outcome anyway. Even if its a placebo effect it has helped me in the past!

Necking 200g of seeds and nuts walking home after a 8.5hr nightshift is an effort in itself. Funny thing is, demolishing the eggs, porridge 'n peanut butter, and sandwiches I made up (wholemeal with hummus and turkey) was a piece of piss because I'm so used to eating it.

Story lads, been doing weights for the past while 6 months or so, getting decent results but I just feel like my diet is letting me down so just looking for some help/info. Would anybody be able to do me out a meal schedule for a day with the portion sizes? I know it seems like im being a lazy bastard but anywhere I look online they only tell you what foods are good or bad, not what amounts or when to be eating them. Any advice appreciated.

What do you weigh? Most of what I've read tells you to consume 1g protein per lb of bodyweight, then for carbs 1.5g - 2g per lb of bodyweight. Then divide that into 5-6 meals a day.

Does anyone agree with the 1g - 2g protein per lb of bodyweight? I've read some other sites that tell you less is better?

1 - 1.25 g of protein per lb of bodyweight (2 - 2.5 g per kg) is what most people eat, you body won't even digest more unless you're taking some supplements.
