I love both my Gibson Les Pauls, but my custom shop custom is a beast. I got a guitar book when i was 6 and it was the guitar that i stared at all the time. Never thought i'd be able to afford one. Put a SD Alternative 8 in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck.

The only thing is that is weighs a ton. Easily 15lb and my back is fucked Laughing

One thing I will say is balls to all this more money equals better, in my little mind it's down to YOUR ear, eyes and of course what it plays like. Also if you can build your own guitar. Brother did it recently and you get exactly what you want the way you want.

While you definitely pay a premium for a brand, fact is, you spend more money, generally you can get better quality. Whether the tone is better or not is subjective, but fit, finish and quality of woods used are most definitely not. You pay a premium for those things, so inevitably, if you have a higher budget, you'll be able to get better quality. While I don't doubt that, for example, your Epiphone SG might suit you down to the ground, when you compare the build quality and attention to detail on it to, say, Poley's Mayones, you'll find the SG lacking. This doesn't mean you'll prefer the Mayones, because build quality doesn't translate to your personal preferences.

I'd also bet that with an unlimited cash fund to pick up one guitar, pretty much all the, "money doesn't = better" crowd would pick a very expensive guitar.

Thanks for that I think. Laughing

Yeah man, they're the tits. As well as the Warpig i've played a guitar with the Nailbomb and that sounds insane as well. They deliver serious low-end and you still get nice tight mids and highs too. Great company to deal with as well!

Haven't played a whole lot of top-end gear but from what I have played - ESP Ninja 600 or Schecter C-1 Elite.

My favourite guitar is my Jackson SL2H. It's a US made soloist with a flip flop finish that changes from purple to gold. It's got EMG's in it. I got it a few years ago for a great price from the states. It plays really well and sounds good too. I've only ever used it at 1 or 2 gigs though, my band started using 7 strings a little after I got it.

Decided I'm gonna get stuck into learning again! Picked up a Cort G200 for 25 there, playing it through a Spider II 30 Watt. Picking up the amp and restringing thr guitar tonight, can't wait to bang out a tune soon!
