The enthusiasm of their drummer tonight was fantastic. Didn't make the music any better, but the dude was sure as hell putting his heart and soul into it. It's a pity the same can't be said for the other two gobshites who were on stage.

Absolutely. In the 80's it was Driveshaft. In the 90's it was Superskin. Not sure who it was in the 00's. In the 10's it's Sweet Savage. What's the common denominator..........MCD, shit bands, cheap fee??

Lock this thread mods. Anti Superskin, anti Stormzone. This forum is degenerating into an anti great band fuckzone.

Just when you thought Whiskey in the Jar was one of the shittiest songs ever - sweet savage play it and amke it even more horrible. Well done.

Although they redeemed themselves ever so slightly by throwing in the Black Rose riff at the end. Rolling Eyes

That 'Warbird' album that's coming out 'in the next couple of months' has been due for imminent release since at least the Saxon / Doro gig last May. But I suppose even MCD would give up on them if they didn't at least give the impression of still being relevant in some way. Although they did their best to dispel that themselves with yet another fucking awful 'Whiskey In The Jar' cover. Is there a bigger cliché in Metal? At least choose something original to cover for fuck's sake.

In fairness, there was a little more than 'no crowd reaction', but the big gig warriors who crawl out from under their rocks once or twice a year would cheer for any ole shite anyway. They certainly went down better than at Saxon, where they were watched by a grand total of about twenty people.

Alan has a point but already knows the answer. Mcd. They never have and never will give a shit about Metal in Ireland.
At the end of the day it's a case of who you know, i'd guess.

in my opinion it's nothing to do with the fact that Primoridial never got the support slot, so that cheap dig makes you look daft. It's the fact that Sweet Savage are absolutely fucking shite. they were shite when they were first around and are as shite now. Aside from Primordial there are many more bands, more deserving of that support slot.

there's only so much you can live off Metallica covering one of your songs and have to re-fucking-mind everyone about it. a simply woeful woeful band

OK OK I'll admit it. I'm bitter that WOTH didn't get the support slot. We were fucking ripped off... Ahem... I had a listen to Sweet Savage the other day and they sounded grand. I wouldn't be arsed buying their album but I might buy a tshirt to look cool.

That has nothing to do with it. What he's referring to is the same hereditary clientelism that plagues our society in other aspects. Fuck all to do with Primordial getting it or not getting it.

This is probably the reason why his snare was completely cut from the mix about half way through. His performance was the only thing making their set half bearable. First time seeing Sweet Savage and hopefully the last.
