| Insanely cool line-up for next year but how many bands will pull out again?! I distinctly remember this years line-up seeming cool once upon a time and then it turned out to be sub-par. Still, it's the best garden party in Europe so I'll more than likely be in attendance for the 5th year running... |

Yeah i'll be at next years one too.
The cancelations are gonna be fucking annoying alright but can't see the likes of Powermad and Jaguar puling out 2 years in a row. |

| If PA and Portrait do not cancel (well just PA to be honest), this will need to be given serious consideration. I have no idea how I will stay alive if I attempt it though. |

| Graeme, you will need to set aside at least one day between HP and HOA to cope with the post-HP hangover. It's guaranteed. |

You wouldn't need to save a whole lot mate. Return flights to Hamburg with Aer Lingus should cost ~€120 if you book early enough (next year's fest is 11 months away). 3 day festival ticket is around the €50, including camping. As for food & booze... Christ, I know one particular German fella who had €8 left to his name on the Saturday morning of the fest and he still got absolutely mangled.
You can drink your own booze in the beer tent/food area so stock up. A German friend of ours Stef roams that area with a plastic bag consisting of 2-3 bottles of cheap whiskey and a few litres of cheap cola. If he wants to see a band he'll drop it back to his tent and he'll grab it again afterwards.
It's only when you're going into the stage area that you have to worry about buying a beer and even then they're still only €2.50 each (and it tastes much better than the HP beer). Screwdrivers are €2.50 (I drank my bodyweight in them this year), whiskey cokes €3.50. Food is between €2.50 for chips, to €3-4 for meaty treats. It's a very affordable festival, even if you end up spending 100% of your time drinking from the bars.
I can't recommend the festival enough, even after the shambles that was this years line-up. |

Not to mention the fact that you can jsut fill up a headbangers open air cup with a can in the campground to avoid buying beer inside when you are there.
I think both Headbangers i only spent about 50 euro between booze and food. |
