| This years event had a pretty good line-up too. One dayer near Nuremberg with ASPHYX, MASTER, NECROS CHRISTOS, DEAD, ROADKILL 13 and DEATHRONATION. It clashed with the Dublin Doom Day weekend though. |

| Well it's the weekend between the All Ireland hurling and football finals again in 2012 so I suspect it might but hopefully not! |

| That's some line-up. I've been meaning to head to one of these smaller festivals. Is it an expensive weekend? |

I don't know anyone who has been there but my guess is that it will run like a typical underground German festival. 800 - 1,500 people. 2 days, probably €35-45 for a weekend ticket inc. camping (assuming it's an option). Beers for €3 with cup & tokens. If it's located in the south-east, the nearest Ryanair airports direct from Dublin are Memmingen (Germany) or Salzburg (Austria). Or, Aer Lingus fly to Munich which is probably the handiest. Your biggest expense will be trains to/from the festival but even they can be gotten cheap if booked far enough in advance. Or maybe book a people carrier taxi if there's enough folk getting the same flight.
You can start doing some sums based on that total guesswork But I mean most underground German festivals can be done on a shoestring budget. A lot of young German headbangers can do 2 day festivals on less than €50 if they get maggoted on campsite beers. |

Interesting! That's a lot more reasonable than I thought. I'll have a look online later at flights. I'd say they're fairly cheap at the minute and it would be nice to finally hit one of these underground festivals and for cheap too! |

Dublin fans (and players) will have the whole summer off for other pursuits this year, so you need not worry.
Looks like a great fest and an escapade into southern Germany for a bit of sunshine and boozing is hard to dismiss. |

Well we only had to show up for the last 7 minutes of the final last year so that was like a summer off as well |
