| Anyone actually been to Nova Rock? Seriously considering this. A quick look at the geography would suggest that flying into Slovakia would be the best bet |

Me and Pat went last June...We'd be going again only for we wanna go to Download for the change, unfortunately they clash!
But yeah, its a fucking lethal festival...Class atmosphere, everybody friendly, boiling heat, hot women in bikini's everywhere and whatnot.
Flying to Bratislava and then a train from there to Vienna would be your best bet. I cant quite remember but I think theres a shuttle bus from Vienna to the Festival. Vienna is a great place too.
At the festival prices are great iswel and cans are only E1...Freezing cold iswel. I'd love to go back...Maybe in 2013. |

Ditto to everything that Colin just said...
Once in Vienna you get the train to Nova Rock (it will actually say NOVA ROCK on the ticket machine)... once off the train the free shuttle bus brings you into the campsite.
What's great about the campsite is that it is directly next to teh stages... you could sit at your tent and watch the bands if you wanted haha... instead of walking 15 mins from the Campsite to the stage... |

Cheers guys, really appreciate the advice. It's looking very likely we're going to head to this. I wanna do Sonisphere but I just cannot see the line up living up to this.
Will probably be on to ask questions again at some stage. |

Dublin to Bratislava yeah...
Actually, Soni had a deal last year that when you buy a ticket you get a Nova Rock one free. And then a month before the gig they decided if you purchased a Nova rock ticket you can fill in a form to get a Sonisphere ticket free.
We didn't mind at the time but it was annoying to think that we payed E250ish for the Soni + Nova Rock package deal when other people just payed E130 for Nova + Soni deal.
Id say wait until Sonisphere make their first announcement because they might announce that package deal again...Supposed to be announcement this month I believe. |

| We were gonna do the package last year. I'm not sure my liver and wife would be too happy with me doing to festivals in one summer. |

| Could the thread starter update their post with details of the festival location and date? |

Awwww, my fav festival bud can't make this due to the dates.
Gonna be a tough decision. Hopefully Sonisphere pull something similar out of the bag. |

| If your looking for something similar I'd be leaning more towards Download as they usually have similar line-ups but Download is also the same weekend as Nova. |
