Anybody else heard much of Blaze's new album? From what i've heard, it is utter gack.
This song, and the lyrics in particular, are fucking atrocious! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ue25vhOtwWc |

| Never thought that a man like Blaze could enter Dianno territory. Did he actually know Dimebag on a personal level? |

| In fairness almost everything he has ever done has been 3rd rate. Right up there with that crineworthy video that Zakk Wylde did |

| I've heard he's recently had to take up a real job. First time since before Wolfsbane were signed. |

| Yeah the hole album is muck! Last 2 albums were the best stuff he has done in my opinion so had high hopes for this. Everything about this one just sounds thrown together and lazy. His new band are awful too! |

That's not true, he worked in Carphone Warehouse after getting sacked from Maiden for awhile.
I half-listened to the new album and I'll need to do so again before fully forming an opinion, but of note the lyrics are awful. With someone like Rob Halford who often writes cheesy lyrics you can tell he's far more intelligent than the lyrics he writes, yet with Blaze, lyrics about Dimebag's death is his mental ability on max. There's never any subtly, everything is on the nose. I wonder what that song 'Difficult' is about
I think part of the problem with the album besides the weaker backing band is that the turn around on this album was too fast. He recorded, mixed, mastered and released the album over about a 6 week period.
The cover and title are awful too. A king of metal doesn't get sacked from a metal band for not being good enough :-/ And his justification is nonsensical - that the fans are the 'king of metal' - which isn't even grammatically correct. |

I don't see any fans on the front cover. |

I think these deserve to be read in full......
I feel a diamond shine
Somewhere in my mind
When I hear the sound shine
The 8th of December in 2004
The wicked tragedy and horror that would shock us all
The was a diamond shining
Shining so bright out there
A bright and shining star of Texas shining everywhere
Silent insane and evil
Thoughts stolen from his mind
He has come to destroy Dimebag
Where he plays and shines
The Alrosa villa Columbus Ohio
Damageplan are rocking out doing their metal show
Up to the stage he's walking
The gun is in his hand
He starts shooting and won't stop until he's taken down
From behind the madman
A single shot gun blast
Ends the madness but the horror of that night still lasts
Dimebag is shot four times
And three more lost their lives
And seven wounded by the evil
In that twisted mind
Fifteen shots are fired
Thirty five to go
The courage and the carnage
Of that night in Ohio
We are broken now
We are broken down
Though you died
You will always be alive here in me
Though you died
I feel a diamond shine
Somewhere in my mind
When I hear the sound shine |
