Exactly what it says on the tin. What's your favourite Irish release, if ya had to pick one? Just one. No lists.
When ya think about it, it turns out there's some fuckin cracking releases but I'd have to go for WOTH- Eulogy for the Sewer Dwellers. Mad into everything the lads have done but I think coming from Terminal Dirge into this, they really found their footing. Absolutely mind blowingly brilliant from start to end.

That's the bastard about it. There is a good few top notch albums. I'm not gonna list them cause it'll turn into a list thread but some of the finest albums ya'll ever hear are Irish.
Here buck, I mean on a more "local" sense rather than Lizzy cause if we were going for best Irish album across the board, it'd be a different fish of kettles. |

A few things.....
pt1. from the 80's when there wasn't much else going on apart from LIZZY, MAMAS BOYS etc...
BLACKWYCH. out of control
WINTER'S REIGN. the mini album
pt.2 More recent times....
PRIMORDIAL "dark romanticism" not that it's anywhere near their best but the first I heard of them and the tunes and overall sound have lot's of memories for me
STEEL TORMENTOR. return of a king Great second album by a band who've had nothing but bad luck with band members...also a few more bands like CELTIC LEGACY [GREAT!!!] and DARKEST ERA!!!! |

Was only talking to me girlfriend about this yesterday, love the demo, haven't pulled it out in ages though.
That intro and opening riff are just unreal, deffo one of the best openers I've heard.
mine would be Dust - mourning Beloveth I think, just one class riff after antother, full of atmosphere and brilliant vocals and lyrics.
Close with The Gathering Wilderness - Primordial for the same reasons, both those albums hugely shaped my taste in metal. |
