Operation Daybreak (1975) Great show well worth tracing down due for re issue soon
In 1942 Czechoslovakia, SS-General Reinhard Heydrich is appointed to become the Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia. The terror and oppression that follow cause Allied authorities in London to authorize a secret mission to kill the man who has come to be known as "The Butcher of Prague". The film explores shows the operation leading up to Heydrich's death as well as the massive German reprisals that followed it.
During World War 2 a squad of Czech expatriates are parachuted into Czechoslovakia in order to assassinate the German governor Reinhard Heydrich. Operation Daybreak, based on a true story, details the preparations, execution, and aftermath of this operation. |

The soundtrack is fucking great!
Have to disagree with you there buddy. It reminded me of (80s) Miami Vice except the chose second rate tracks. Miami Vice also didn't suffer from repeated "artistic" lulls in dialogue/action/etc |

New Batman was class. Good way to end the series. My favourite of the 3 is still the Dark Knight, but I'm not sure it's fair to compare each film as each one is completely different.
Bane was awesome, but I'm still none the wiser of why he wears the mask unless I missed something.
Selina Kyle was a great character, but I think the film didn't really need her. |

I think you missed the part where it was explained why Bane wears the mask
Agree about Selena Kyle. Hathaway was better than I expected but the character just didn't belong in Nolan's Batman universe. Im not going to post spoilers but a couple of things in the last act ruined the film for me aswell. |

Nolan casts some atrocious women in his films though. Gurny faced Anne Hathaway in this new one, Maggie Gyllenhal in the last one (has a face like a foot), and Katie Homes in the Batman Begins - whose acting is flat as fuck.
Wasn't a fan of Inception either, but it was made worse with having Ellen Page in it. |

The film looks shite, but at least we have triple tits confirmation for Total Remake

Quote: The Michael Haneke and Jim Jarmush stuff have each been a revelation for me, having never before dipped in to either's work.
Got that same Heneke box set out of laser years ago having never heard of him before, fantastic stuff, Seventh Continent especially striking watching it for the first time and not realizing where it was heading.
If you wanna check out more of his stuff Cache and Funny Games (original version) are highly recomended. |

Watched 'The Lorax' recently, one of my absolute favorite books since I was a kid. This recent adaption was fucking woeful. Hollywood has consistently made a balls of translating Seuss to the big screen but this is particularly atrocious. It's absolutely fucking soulless, the makers really missed the point.
Any recommendations for decent comedies? |

It was my my first taste of Haneke and I'll definitely be looking to investigate further. I saw Michelangelo Antonioni's Red Desert this weekend (http://www.ifi.ie/film/red-desert/) and was completely absorbed in a way that I wasn't with Zabriskie Point (the only film of his which I'd seen before). Very arresting! |

Melancholia - brilliant, LVT at his best!
Cassandra's Dream - average, expected it to be better considering Woody Allen wrote and directed |

There's quite a few throw backs to the first one, nothing the Wiki page couldn't sort in five minutes, although obviously it'll have more impact on you if you've seen the first. |

| Yeah probably best to watch the first two before Rises, there are lots of references to those stories. |
