I want more... are there any demos left floating about? Jamie, Liadain? Been scouring net for other info, did Stitchy Press actually release the Discog CD? If so anyone have one floating about they don't need?

Been listening to the De Novissimis / Serpents split a lot recently, fuckin crushing. Found an mp3 online of 'Hearse on Fire', as good as it is the live version on the split in fuckin crushing.
Swans vs. Godflesh mash up... would have loved to catch em live.

Hearse on Fire mp3

Have the demo & Denovissimis split if you want a loan/burn? providing Jamie has none left.

I have the DeNov split alright Steo, and I think Liadain is hooking me up with a demo burn.
All is right in the world.

just spotted this.

I don't think that discog was given a proper release. I've seen the sleeves, I was given a couple of copies which I passed to friends in the UK, and that's it. I don't think SP ever really put them up for sale.

can someone else hook me up with the recordings?I don't actually have any of them at all any more. I've asked Ed Hannon to upload the live split onto his DIY archive blog, hopefully that will happen, but I'd like a physical copy.

in retrospect, we were considerably better live than recorded. I wish more live recordings existed, and that I still had the dvd of the set that turned up on that DeNov split. I remember that being somewhat of a turning point. "Hearse on Fire" was supposed to be on a split with Moss, which I believe later eventually became the one sided 12" Moss put out last year. could be wrong.

I believe some live footage exists ( about 4 or 5 gigs worth I think?) too, but I have nothing of it anymore. I have a camcorder tape someone gave me of part of our set opening for Wolf Eyes in Whelans, but have never seen it as I don't have the means to trasnfer it to video/dvd/upload - can anyone do it for me?

Cairbre, if you really do want more, I'll record the last two songs we wrote on the four track for you and you can have your own hand made, limited to one posthumous Serpents release Laughing

Incidentally, the current American hardcore band Serpents who bugged me relentlessly to have our myspace URL are whiny pricks with an incredible sense of self entitlement. Fuck them.

oh fuck, one last thing: that live version of "HOF" is the definitive one, and has different lyrics to the recorded one.I wrote the lyrics for the demo version in a hurry and hated them almost instantly, so I rewrote them shortly after.

if anyone has any of the recordings or photos or whatever pm me or mail it to pentagrimes@gmail.com

Liadain, if I could just get a copy of the Serpents/Already Dead discog that would be super-fantastic. Jamie, I will take you up on that 'limited to one posthumous Serpents release', nice one.

bizarre update alert: the Serpents demo is being reissued on tape by the Canadian label Survivalist (Column of Heaven, The Rita, etc) next month.

I'm as surprised by this as anyone.

Andy from Survivalist has actually had to burn me a copy to listen to first as I still don't have it Laughing . the version coming out is apparently the rough mix, which is nastier and heavier than the final one. Allegedly.

the live one? Cheers, a decent audio copy is what I'm after. I may also finally try and sort out the footage from the Wolf Eyes gig and see if there's any other unreleased tunes on that. Just need an adaptor so that I can convert it from the video camera tape.

I meant convert/copy your video camera tapes, they have all that gear at their disposal.

I've got the Already Dead demo tape.
The one with early versions of tracks that ended up on the Serpents demo.

And I have MP3 rips of the Serpents demos from 2003 and 2004.

I was going to get in touch with Jaime about maybe adding them to the Irish-Metal Archive. Just haven't got around to it yet.

I can PM download links if people want them?
