| Leather Mike are you previously of Dehumanizer? As a drummer I have to say the thing I despise about guitars is the visual appearance of guitars tend to have a stigma of the bands sound, before I've even heard them. For example Jackson, BC Rich etc.. have this stigma of 80's metal Fender and Gibson guitars as characterless as they look offer more mystic to the sound of the guitarist in question and have been used in every genre from country to death metal. I've never seen a skiffle band using Jackson guitars. Thing that I hate about Jackson guitars is the head stock they look scary but I like the Jackson Phil Collen uses these days. |

No, I'm not.
How on earth can you say Fender and Gibson guitars are characterless when they are responsible for some of the most iconic items in the history of modern instrument production?
Not sure what you're actually trying to get at here fella, as (no offence) your post doesnt really make any sense.
And Jackson headstocks are fuckin class |

I said Fender and Gibson look characterless, not SOUND characterless. Jackson head stocks look to me. Black body with a white scratch plate looks common as muck to me. That is characterless to me. I am a great believer in supporting the under dog |

| Dunno what you are going on about, it's a guitar simple as that. Jacksons and gibsons are iconic. As for jacksons I have a plethora. But my fave is actually my old Charvel model 6. The one guitar I'd never sell. But have to say the rr24 I got off the guys for my birthday is a fine job, whipped out the emg and lashed in a bare knuckles painkiller. |

I have much love for my Jackson RR1, its the only high end guitar Ive ever bought and I'll never sell it. Even although I generally dont like the idea of signature models, I love the V shape and the way it is very "body heavy" which helps with easy access to the fret board without changing your technique/stance.
I have the similar mid-range LTD Alexi Laiho version as a backup and it is a lovely guitar too, even although I'll always prefer the Jackson, the Jackson was way more expensive! The mid-range LTDs are great value... |
