Definitely more than your airline would allow you. |

Once in the Pavilions shopping centre in Swords I spotted a man in a Carpathian Forest t-shirt and it made me so happy I showed him the sign of the horns just to let him know he wasn't alone (I didn't have a clue who he was and I've never seen him again)
You have seen this video haven't you?

It doesn't surprise me you haven't seen him again. He probably burned his Carpathian Forest t-shirt later that day. |

Barenjager and Barenfang are the same drink. And yes i know exactly what it is, i'm starting to run short on it though haha. Can never have enough of the stuff and just like mead, the Irish don't know it and can't get it.... |

A few reasons really:
1. A small national population so not an awful lot of metallers to begin with
2. A traditionally conversative mindset
3. Gammy weather
4. A lack of support from the main media
5. The need for Europeans to travel to it |

To be honest, I see the number 2 as the only true reason.
1. - Norway only has a few more citizens than Ireland and yet you'll see metalheads everywhere.
3. - The weather in Scandinavian countries is no better than here.
4. - Apart from Norway, metal has always been an underground music genre, plus nobody gives a damn about mainstream media anyway.
5. - Festivals should be mainly for local people, any people who come from abroad are just a bonus. |

C'mere would you ever fuck off and stop being a tool? You've done nothing but complain since coming on here. All you seem to do is give out about how shit it is over here. We don't have a big metal community I get it. Your just going to have to get over it and stop bitching about it. |

| It's all fine and dandy saying that a festival should be for locals with foreigners as a bonus but a festival needs to make money to survive. Look at Roadburn, Hellfest, Wacken or Hell's Pleasure. They all attract massive numbers (relative to their respective sizes) of foreigners. That is why they are so successful. Do you really believe that there are 80,000 metallers from that local village that hosts Wacken? Or two thousand metallers in Possneck etc etc??? Your head is up your bumbum. |

If you want to organize a music festival and first thing you think about is how to make money, then you've chosen the wrong music genre. If you want to make money, invite Rihanna or some other pop music slut and you won't have to work for the rest of the year. But when it comes to metal, I know a few people who organise concerts and festivals and all of them have one thing in common; they do it as their hobby and even if they sometimes lose money, they don't give up, because they don't do it for profit, they do it simply because they like the music.
And Wacken? WTF are you talking about? Nobody expects this type of festival to take place in Ireland, all I'd like to see is 1-2 days long festival for 200-300 people. If it's good and if the fans like it, it will eventually get bigger, if not, no problem, it's still better than nothing and some people even prefer smaller festivals. Btw even Brutal Assault that I'm visiting next week started as an one day long festival for 350 people and nobody could imagine that one year it would last 4 days and attract 10,000+ fans from all over the world. |

I was thinking about it a good few times, but I would need to find some people to do it with me and first of all I'd have to be convinced that it's something worth doing here (not moneywise, but when it comes to the number of people who would be interested in this type of event). |
