Anyone else pick this up yet? Fairly decent so far I think. No surprises really, you know what to expect from them. Couple of duds as usual and lots of great stuff.

I only have the old albums - any you recommend from the later years?

All of them are very good I reckon. A few crap songs on all of them and a lot of very good ones of course. Twenty, God & Guns, Vicious Cycle and the Last Rebel are all definitely worth a go. Edge of Forever and 1991 are less good but still worth having. Endangered Species is an acoustic album, with some old stuff and some new songs. Great all the way through. Love that one myself. Really shows just how good a singer Johnny is.

The Van Zant stuff isn't bad either. Not so much Johnny's solo stuff from the 80's, but the country albums he and Donnie did together, get right with the man, my kind of country and brother to brother. Again, duds on all of them but the good songs are very good. You'd need to like a bit of country to get into those though.

Endangered species is definitely fantastic and ended my unfounded misgivings about latter day skynyrd

Cheers - must check some of those out. They were one of the highlights at Hellfest this year

Edge Of Forver is a belter in my eyes (ears). Also recommend Vicious Cycle and Gods & Guns. So looking forward to getting this new one.

1991, Last Rebel and Twenty were decent enough, just never spun them as much.

Have to pick up Endangered Species after the recommendations here Wink

You sure it's only €6.50 for the CD and magazine? Should be around €20 or so (it's £14.99 in the UK)

€6.50 and comes with a poster and metal pin. Something like €22 in Reads.

There's the normal edition of the mag with a CD on it, featuring the new Skynyrd single, and there's the album edition where the whole mag is just them and the album's attached, so might be the former that you saw. The one with the album should be 20 quid or so.

Paddy, it is the special edition one. Seen it there myself yesterday. They have it for that price up in Dundrum HMV too. Picked it up there myself. Pretty good album. But yeah there are a couple of duds on it but sure the good songs well out weigh the duds.
